Schuster Physical Therapy (SPT) is looking for a PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Part-time with opportunity of becoming full-time || Pay range: $14-16/hour

*Ideal candidate would be willing to occasionally fill in across all clinic locations (Boone, Jefferson, Sparta), with their home office being in Jefferson, NC.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Naturally joyful demeanor is absolutely required!
  • Builds genuine and authentic relationships with every patient!
  • Builds and reviews charts prior to patient visit to determine need for referral or pre-authorization.
  • Obtains and inputs pre-authorization insurance and demographic information into our Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Verifies patient benefits and eligibility prior to completing referral.
  • Reminds patients of upcoming appointments and/or changes to schedule.
  • Collects payments and pertinent insurance information.
  • Provides patients, family members and referral sources with information pertaining to policies and procedures as well as services provided at SPT.
  • Assists with scheduling patients for evaluations, re-evaluations and treatments.
  • Scans and files paperwork accurately for team success.
  • Maintains inventory, orders supplies and performs other office related duties as required.
  • Has an eye for marketing and posting to social media.
  • Always adheres to HIPPA guidelines.

What You Need To Be Successful

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. College education is preferred. 
  • Three years of work experience in an administrative or clerical position- ideally in a health care setting/ medical office performing relevant clerical activities. (Medical office experience is not a requirement for the right candidate.)
